2014 in Review

2014 started off with a bang as we said goodbye to loved ones and moved to Wellington, New Zealand. Our brave Wednesday joined us in June after spending five months with Seth's parents. In July she was honoured as Pet Relocation's "Pet Move of the Month".

In an effort to meet new people we joined circus classes, with Jess honing her hula hooping skills and Seth joining her for partner acrobatics.

To bring a little bit of Pittsburgh to Wellington, Jess decided to throw a Maker Party, a community event to promote creativity in technology among children of all ages. Maker Party Wellington comprised eight organisations and brought in 130 participants over the course of three hours.

This one event led to new volunteer opportunities, friends, and an invitation and travel stipend from Mozilla for Jess to fly to London to participate in their annual conference.

In March we were happy to host our first visitor, Seth's sister Tabitha. It was a joy to share our new home and city with a loved one and we enjoyed exploring local nature and culture together.

If you have yet to visit us, great news! We are pleased to announce that Seth's contract has been renewed for 2015, therefore we will be staying in Wellington for another year!
